CWS Holiday Sock Drive

It may surprise a lot of folks to hear, but SOCKS are BY FAR one of the most requested items among the homeless population. Many homeless people walk several miles each day and spending considerable time on their feet causes socks to wear out quickly.

People ask, “WHY SOCKS?” And our answer is: Socks are something that most of us never have to think twice about. When you go to get dressed, you open your drawer and pull out your most comfy, your warmest, or your favorite-colored socks.

But for those who don’t have a home, it often means walking on average up to 10 miles each and every day just to find basic necessities, and while wearing shoes that are not the correct size and with socks that are worn out, dirty, and stiff. There is nowhere to wash the socks, so after 2 to 3 days, the socks are worn through and must be thrown away. It's sad, but true.

HOW TO DONATE: We are working to collect as many *new* CHILD and ADULT socks here at CWS HQ to then send out to numerous organizations that are collecting them for the homeless, from all around the country. You can either donate here -OR- you can collect socks yourself and and MAIL THEM to us at:
